Croatia is located in central Europe, encompassed by Adriatic sea from south and west, and Pannonian Plain in the east.

4,370,460  – mainly Croats, with some minorities.

Currency
The Croatian Kuna is the currency of Croatia. 1 Kuna = 100 Lipas. There are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 Lipa coins, 1, 2, 5 and 25 Kuna coins and 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 Kuna banknotes.

Foreign currencies can be exchanged at exchange offices, banks, post offices and at hotels and camping grounds. Banking hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays banks are open until 1 p.m. In the larger cities some banks are also open on Saturdays. Credit cards: Most hotels and shops accept credit cards (American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa, Sport Card International). With restaurants it is a different story, especially on the island. When chartering catamaran in Croatia, it is important to plan good.

Water
Tap water is drinkable throughout Croatia, and is considered very good quality. However, supply of water on islands is limited, and try to save water when wash a catamaran in one of the ports and marinas.

Climate expected when chartering a catamaran in Croatia
Croatian Climate is typical Mediterranean. Sea temperature is 10-15 Celsius and during the hot summer time it climbs up to 25 Celsius. Air temperature is between 27-35 Celsius on summer, and average wither temperature is 10 Celsius. Summer daylight is between 6:00-20:00 hour.

Fishing & diving licence in Adriatic sea
Fishing licence 
Licence for recreational fishing (not professional) can be purchased in Ministry of sea or some Harbour offices. Electronic licence: www.mps.hr/ribarstvo Please mind that many protected animals live in Adriatic sea: Dolphin, the Mediterranean monk seal locally called Morski Čovik, turtle, seahorse, shell Prstac, starfish (Asterina, Ophidiaster ophidianus), red coral etc. Half of the year protected are also: Lobster etc. Penalties are from 20.000,00 HRK to 100.000,00 HRK.

Medical service
Medical services in Croatia are free for foreign tourists if the Health Care Convention was signed between Croatia and the country they come from. Health services expenses provided to individuals coming from the countries with which the Health Care Convention was not signed are charged directly to users according to the price list. Hospitals and clinics are available in all the major towns, as well as pharmacies in the smaller towns and settlements. For patients whose lives are in danger, there is emergency transport by air (helicopter) or sea (speedboat).

Diving
Diving licence (PADi,CMAS,NAUI,SSI,NASDS,YMCA etc.) is required for diving activities in Croatia. It is recommended to have diving course in one of many licensed diving schools. Also diving is prohibited in near commercial harbors, marinas, national parks, nature parks etc.). Penalties are up to 30.000,00 HRK.
